Magdalena Hanebach

Magda Hanebach operates out of Gowling WLG's Toronto office, specializing in nuclear law and is authorized to practice in both Ontario and New York. Her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of nuclear industry aspects, including operational challenges of current facilities and the initiation of new nuclear projects. She offers guidance on legislative and regulatory compliance, nuclear liability, contractual strategies, project development, financing, and risk management.

Her clientele spans domestic and international sectors, involving owners, investors, and contractors within the nuclear supply chain. Beyond advisory roles, Magda actively engages in civil and commercial litigation, advocating for her clients in various legal forums including courts, arbitrations, and mediations.

Magda's contributions to the nuclear sector extend into prominent industry organizations. She holds positions such as treasurer and board member of the Canadian Nuclear Law Organisation, and secretary for the International Nuclear Law Association's Working Group 3 on Nuclear New Build. Moreover, she spearheads the CNLO Nuclear Law School, a key educational event that brings together legal professionals and industry stakeholders.
