Anna Ohanyan

Residing in the bustling heart of Toronto, Anna Ohanyan is a dynamic associate at Gowling WLG, playing a crucial role in both the Infrastructure and Construction Industry groups. Her legal acumen shines brightest when navigating the complex terrain of major infrastructure endeavors, particularly those involving public-private partnership (P3) projects.

Anna's legal expertise extends to representing a diverse clientele, including authorities commissioning projects, partners from the private sector, major subcontractors, and other key project stakeholders. She skillfully aids in the creation and refinement of bid documents and intricate contracts across a vast array of infrastructure ventures.

Before her tenure at Gowling WLG, Anna brought her talents to an international law firm in Toronto. This followed a notable chapter in her career in Eastern Europe, where she dedicated her skills primarily to the public sector. During this period, she made significant contributions to the review, formulation, and execution of public policies.

In terms of her practice areas, Anna's prowess covers Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering, and Energy sectors, showcasing her broad legal expertise.

Anna's journey to becoming a recognized legal professional in Ontario in 2021 was paved with rich educational and professional experiences. She embarked on this path at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, where she earned her JD in 2020. Prior to this, Anna contributed her insights and expertise as an adviser to the Minister of Justice at the Ministry of Justice of Armenia between 2015 and 2016, and as a legal expert and executive assistant at the Parliament of Armenia from 2013 to 2015. Her academic foundation was laid at the American University of Armenia, where she obtained her LLM in 2013, following her LLB from the Russian-Armenian University in 2011.

Anna's professional affiliations reflect her commitment to her field, including memberships in the Law Society of Ontario, Toronto Lawyers Association, and Women’s Infrastructure Network, further cementing her standing in the legal community.
