Lauren Baker

Lauren Baker is a key member of the litigation team at Hoffer Adler LLP, where her legal practice spans across various domains including franchise disputes, commercial litigation, and defense in professional liability and malpractice cases. Lauren has a notable track record of representing clients successfully in the Ontario Superior Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Before her tenure at Hoffer Adler LLP, Lauren honed her skills at a boutique law firm in Toronto, focusing on franchising law and professional liability defense, alongside participating in multiple class action lawsuits. Her law school years at Queen’s University were marked by her significant contribution as a student caseworker at the Queen’s Elder Law Clinic, where she offered legal assistance in wills and estates to those in the Kingston community who couldn't afford legal services.

Lauren's expertise covers a wide array of areas including commercial litigation, franchising, professional liability, health law, and personal injury. As a dedicated member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association, she stays actively involved in the legal community.

Lauren has shared her knowledge and insights as a co-speaker at notable events such as the Ontario Bar Association’s Annual Franchise Law Conference and the Canadian Franchise Association’s Franchise Law Day. Her written work includes insightful pieces in the OBA Franchise Law Newsletter, and she has contributed to the Canadian Franchise Association’s Certified Franchise Executives Fran-Guard Seminar, among other engagements.

With a J.D. from Queen’s University and an Hon. B.A. in English & Philosophy, Lauren was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2020. Fluent in English, she brings a comprehensive and empathetic approach to her practice, ensuring her clients receive top-notch legal representation.
