Introducing Kayla Gordon, a distinguished associate within the Family Law Practice Group, Kayla brings a wealth of expertise and a compassionate approach to her practice in Guelph, Ontario. With a profound dedication to guiding families through legal challenges, Kayla specializes in a broad spectrum of family law services. Her areas of focus encompass the intricacies of Family Law, ranging from Adoption, Child Custody & Access, and Child Support & Spousal Support, to the delicate matters of Cohabitation Contracts, Fertility and Reproductive Law, Marriage Contracts, Mediation and Arbitration, Property Division, Separation, and Divorce.

Kayla's academic journey led her to earn a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Criminology from the University of Western Ontario. During her law studies, she actively contributed to the community through her role as a Caseworker at Community Legal Services, her involvement in the Community Outreach Committee, and her participation as a musical performer at Western Law’s annual charity concert.

Her professional path was charted early on, starting with her summer, articled, and practiced roles at a full-service law firm in Guelph before her association with McKenzie Lake. Kayla's pre-legal career as a researcher at Western and McMaster Universities, focusing on law, family-focused public health services, and the prevention of intimate partner violence, has immensely contributed to her comprehensive approach to family law. This background has enabled Kayla to handle negotiations and court representations with a unique blend of positivity, compassion, and thoroughness, qualities that her clients highly value.

Beyond her legal practice, Kayla is deeply invested in her community. She serves as a Board Director for the Guelph Wish Fund for Children and United Way Guelph-Wellington-Dufferin, where she plays pivotal roles in the Annual Auction Committee and co-chairs the GenNext Committee, organizing events for local young professionals. Additionally, Kayla contributes her expertise to the United Way's Board Governance Committee and the Wish Fund's Gala Committee, further demonstrating her commitment to community enrichment.

Outside the realm of law and community service, Kayla's passions include traveling, hiking, photography, playing music, and enjoying quality time with friends, family, and her cherished Bernedoodle, Bernie.
