Adam Stephens

Adam Stephens holds the position of Chair, Disputes and is a key member of the executive committee. His journey with the firm includes leadership roles such as heading the Litigation Practice Group and the Commercial Litigation Group. Adam's forte lies in commercial litigation, where he blends practical advice with strategic insights for his clients. His courtroom prowess is proven across all levels of Ontario and federal courts, not to mention his acumen in private arbitration settings.

His legal practice covers a broad spectrum of complex commercial litigation areas, including but not limited to shareholder disputes, commercial agreements, and issues related to real estate. Adam is adept at representing corporate directors and officers, providing litigation advice to company boards and their committees.

He has a notable track record in handling shareholder disputes, especially those concerning corporate dissolution, valuation, and corporate conduct, including the management of shareholder meetings. Adam's expertise also extends to resolving contract disputes across various sectors, from sales of goods and assets to personal service agreements. Additionally, he is well-versed in real estate litigation, including lease breaches and property sales agreements, alongside managing procurement disputes related to tender breaches or RFP issues.

Adam's contributions to legal scholarship include writing and speaking on key developments in shareholder rights, contract law, class actions, and real estate law. He also shares his knowledge through lectures on civil litigation tactics, focusing on discovery and trial techniques.

His past role as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum underscores his commitment to community involvement.
