I was suspended from work without pay due to a vaccination policy put into place in 2021. The suspension lasted for 10 weeks. The company would not accommodate my conscious / religious exemption and no where in the policy did they include such request. After I requested exemption the Union got involved as did Human Resources and a meeting was held with me about my request. The union had lawyers involved (or so they say) as I was 1 of 50 employees out of roughly 6000 requesting accommodation. The end result for the 50 employees was suspension without pay. I have all of the paperwork and emails from that time saved on my laptop. I have continued working with the company expecting reimbursement for those 10 weeks of pay I lost and still no result. With more and more information surfacing on the topic I’m curious if it’s worth seeking legal action against the company.
