Karen Hulan

Karen, a distinguished partner at Beckett, stands out for her dedication to advocating for individuals who have suffered injuries under the care of institutions like long-term care facilities and educational establishments, as well as victims of vehicular mishaps, slip-and-fall accidents, and various other unfortunate incidents. She offers comprehensive legal support, actively pursuing claims for accident benefits, along with short-term and long-term disability benefits, ensuring her clients are well-informed about the lawsuit and insurance intricacies, thus alleviating the anxiety associated with navigating through claims. Her approach is centered around meticulous management of each case, prioritizing her clients' ability to concentrate on their healing journey.

Karen's educational background is as diverse as her legal expertise. After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University in 1993, she enhanced her linguistic skills by studying French at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 1994. She furthered her education with a Bachelor of Education (intermediate/secondary) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1995, culminating in a law degree from Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 2002, and subsequently joining the Ontario bar a year later.

Her roles extend beyond legal practice; Karen serves as a Bencher for the Law Society of Ontario and an Adjudicator with the Law Society Tribunal. She co-chairs the Law Society’s Futures Committee and contributes to its Professional Development and Competence Committee and the Lawyers Professional Indemnity Review Task Force. Her leadership skills were also recognized in her tenure as the Past President of the Middlesex Law Association. Additionally, Karen is an active member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
