Avoid this attorney at all costs

In early 2023, I retained Joe Scioscia through Sean Logue & Associates for what should have been a simple, uncontested, no-fault divorce. He took my retainer and promised completion within 90 days. However, after taking my money, he failed to provide a contract copy despite multiple requests and refused to give case updates.

After a year of being ignored, I finally reached him—only for him to demand an additional $690 to “submit the case,” falsely claiming he had mailed a letter requesting more money to the wrong address. That letter was never received. I paid promptly, and once again, he promised completion in 90 days. Another year passed, and he completely ghosted me. Calls and emails went unanswered.

I contacted the Allegheny County Civil Division and was informed that no progress had been made on my case since February 2024 due to insufficient service—proving that Joe had lied about his actions. When I escalated the issue to Sean Logue, the head of the firm, he personally assured me Joe would respond. That never happened.

Joe Scioscia took my money without completing the service he was paid for, forcing me to file a formal complaint with the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board, which is now investigating the matter.

To make matters worse, negative reviews about Joe Scioscia keep disappearing, and any mention of his involvement with Sean Logue & Associates is being wiped from the internet—likely to hide a pattern of misconduct. Do not be fooled by the positive reviews—this firm is unprofessional, unethical, and will take your money without delivering results.

Mr Scioscia is a very unprofessional attorney. He agreed to take my daughter’s case after I spoke with him.  When I tried to reach him over the course of 3 weeks, he never returned my calls. When I finally called and reached him, he was arrogant and lied about requesting a virtual hearing for me.  Then the week before the hearing my daughter called to touch base three times and  he never returned her call. Then the day of the hearing, HE DIDN'T SHOW UP!!! He accepted our case and filed with the courts so he could prove he was our attorney and get paid by our MetLife plan but then did not follow through at all.
