Elizabeth ("Liz") Lang-Miers was a Justice on the Court of Appeals for the 5th District of Texas at Dallas until December 2018. She is a Partner in Locke Lord LLP's Appellate Practice Group and Director of Attorney Development based in the Dallas office. Prior to being appointed Justice in 2003, she was an experienced trial and appellate lawyer with Locke Lord predecessor firms. While serving as a Justice she was appointed Chair of the five-member State of Texas Multi-District Litigation Panel. She is a member of the Panel of ‎Arbitrators of the American Arbitration ‎Association.‎

Serving in leadership positions across numerous community and professional organizations, Liz is the Past Chair of the Judicial Division of the American Bar Association (ABA) and Past Chair of the ABA's Appellate Judges Conference, Past Chair of the Judicial Section and a member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar of Texas. She is a Past President of the Dallas Bar Association (DBA) and a Past President of the Mac Taylor Inn of Court. She is a Life Fellow of the American, Texas and Dallas Bar Foundations; Past Chair of The Dallas Bar Foundation; Past Vice-Chair of the Board of The Dallas Foundation; a member of the American Law Institute; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Center for American and International Law; and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Texas Supreme Court Historical Society. She is a member of the International Women's Forum and Co-Chair of Locke Lord's Women's Initiative Committee.
