Brian has successfully prosecuted and defended lawsuits on behalf of his clients in state and federal trial courts throughout Texas and in other jurisdictions. Brian has represented clients in disputes involving, among other things, contracts, employment issues, fiduciary duties, real estate, oil & gas, and disputes among owners of closely held businesses.
Because Brian’s clients represent a range of industries, the matters he handles vary widely. Employment issues, however, surface in virtually all organizations. Brian’s extensive experience in and deep well of knowledge about non-competes and confidentiality matters as well as trade secret protection and other intellectual property disputes enhance his ability to serve clients, both in and out of litigation.
Brian also brings to his practice significant experience in arbitration, bankruptcy adversary litigation, and appeals. A certified mediator with a passion for helping parties resolve their disputes outside of the courtroom, he reads people well, understands the many angles involved in both mediation and informal negotiations, and communicates clearly to advance his clients’ interests. Brian also spends a significant amount of time working with clients on litigation-avoidance strategies.
Although he serves clients of all sizes, Brian tends to advise middle-market businesses most frequently. He particularly enjoys financial services-related work because of the big-picture perspective and strategic insight he has cultivated in representing clients in many of these cases for nearly two decades.
Brian also serves as the General Counsel for KRCL and chairs the firm's Project Make-a-Difference, which coordinates the firm's charitable efforts.
Away from the Office
Brian and his wife, Tiffany, have three kids (and two dogs) who keep them busy. They love to travel when they have the time and are both very involved in their church.
