Scott Wendorf has extensive experience in managing global patent portfolios and in counseling clients regarding intellectual property strategy, licenses, and technology development agreements.

Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Scott was Director of Global Intellectual Asset Management for Halliburton and served as Managing Director of Halliburton’s Switzerland office. Prior to law school, Scott was a geologist with the Exploration & Production Division of Shell Offshore, Inc, and a graduate research associate with the Biogeochemical Laboratories at Indiana University. He is a co-inventor on several issued patents and an author of several articles in the areas of IP, energy, and the environment.

Scott is a recipient of the Judge Norman W. Black Award from the State Bar of Texas for his work on behalf of human rights organizations in the U.S. Supreme Court case of Lawrence vs. Texas. He served part-time as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, successfully completing the Naval Intelligence Officer billet qualification. He currently serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for the Study of Earth and Man at Southern Methodist University, which supports interdisciplinary research and education in energy, earth science, archaeology, and related fields.
