Kara’s practice focuses on corporate law and general real estate transactions as well as affordable housing transactions including workforce housing, property tax exemption deals, low-income housing tax credit, bond, and FHA transactions. Kara works with developers, non-profits, and housing agencies.

Kara has assisted clients in all aspects of business transactions including: helping clients secure financing, conducting legal, operational, and financial due diligence, ensuring compliance with government regulations, negotiating and drafting asset or stock purchase agreements, drafting applicable ancillary agreements, and assisting with closings and post-closing obligations.

Kara graduated from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. During law school, she served as the managing editor for SMU International Law Review Association’s Year in Review, for which she was recognized by the American Bar Association as a 2018 Student Editorial Award recipient. Ms. Hargrove also participated in the Emory Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition. Upon graduating from SMU, Ms. Hargrove received a Pro Bono Honor Roll recognition.
