Mike McCurley’s name is practically synonymous with “family law” in the State of Texas. If you are seeking representation in a family law case, whether you ask someone or run an internet search, chances are Mike McCurley’s name will come up. He has been recognized by numerous publications and selected by his peers for numerous awards based on his performance as a litigator as well as his business acumen.

Mike McCurley has a nationwide reputation as a zealous advocate and for never backing down from a challenge. He has represented celebrities and wealthy business owners, as well as parents who are putting everything on the line for the sake of their children. Mike is well known for analyzing a client’s legal problem and assembling the best team to confront that challenge. The appropriate team might be one lawyer and one paralegal, or it might require several lawyers, a forensic accountant, a psychologist or psychiatrist, and a substance abuse expert.

Mike realized early in his career that every family law case is important and that he must always give his best, whether the case is large or small. He has been recognized by his peers for those high standards. He has won numerous honors and awards, including the prestigious Sam Emison Award in 2001, presented by the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists for his contributions to the practice of family law. He has been named to the “Texas Super Lawyers” list, a Thomson Reuters service, in family law every year from 2003 to 2018. He also has been named to the “Best Lawyers in Dallas” list, published by D Magazine, in family law from 2008-2009 and 2011-2017. Mike has served the family law community as Chair of the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section and is a past President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

Outside his law practice, Mike co-founded 511 Home Group, a charitable organization and is an active member of the University Park United Methodist Church. A fun fact that reflects his lifelong work ethic is that Mike became the youngest licensed barber in the State of Texas when he was 16 years old and worked at that profession until he started practicing law.
