More Information:

Matthew Furse was not born in Texas, but he got here as fast as he could. A native of the United Kingdom, Matthew trained as a Barrister (Trial Lawyer) and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012. He met his American wife in London where they lived for six years until the lure of the people, weather, and food of Texas became too strong to resist. After passing the Texas Bar Exam, he joined Glast, Phillips & Murray where he has built a loyal following representing US and international clients in litigation across the United States and beyond.

A seasoned and tenacious civil litigation attorney, Matthew has successfully represented clients as first chair throughout all stages of trial, arbitration, and appellate proceedings. He acts for individuals, investors, corporations, partnerships, advisors, and trusts in a range of complex litigation matters, including securities, fraud, bankruptcy, and intellectual property, particularly in multiparty cases, or those with a multi-jurisdictional or international element. Matthew has an acute understanding of the emotional and financial investment of clients involved in litigation. He prides himself on being highly responsive and accessible to clients, as well as being able to explain complex legal concepts in straightforward language.

Known on the rugby pitch as ‘The Enforcer’, Matthew is also a powerful presence in court and relishes the opportunity to fight his client’s corner at trial in either state or federal court. He also understands, however, that discretion can sometimes be the better part of valor and can use his robust advocacy skills to facilitate the resolution of disputes through negotiation or mediation.

Matthew also practices with the firm of Jamieson Alexander (www.jamiesonalexander.co.uk) in London, principally in the fields of commercial, bankruptcy, property, probate, and data protection litigation. Matthew can therefore represent US clients on either side of the Pond and provide seamless access to the full range of courts in the UK, including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). He can also advise and represent clients in cross-border bankruptcy, intellectual property, and probate disputes, together with obtaining Mareva worldwide freezing injunctions, and issues involving the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

In his spare time, Matthew enjoys a diverse range of interests including cooking, opera, shooting and country pursuits, rugby, NFL/College Football, and powerlifting.
