I am a member of Metlife legal plan. My car was towed when I parked at the grocery store. I need your help to know whether the impound is valid or the expense is too high.

Dear Jason Giesler, Attorney at Law, I’m reaching out to seek assistance with an impound ticket issue. My car was impounded on 6/6/24 while it was parked across the street from my residence, outside my friend's apartment. I disputed $300 with my credit card company right away based on my belief that they held my car intentionally longer and towed from a non-designated area. My credit card company approved this dispute and I got $300 back, but I have since received a notice from Puget Sound Collections, demanding payment of the full $500. After reviewing my receipt just now from Mac Towing.
