Are you looking for NCA exam guru reviews? We decided to launch one of our investigations after we saw that the Ontario Law Society (a Canadian regulator) was going after NCA Exam Guru and Aamer Chaudhry (the owner.)
It seemed weird that a law firm regulator would fight against an NCA prep company, so we wanted to do a deep dive. We also looked at the company’s website and online reviews. In the article, we will also provide you with the information you need to decide if you should hire the company or not. We will also reach out to Aamer Chaudhry for comment.

What is NCA Exam Guru?
As you can see from the screenshot, the company offers various training programs for those that are training to be lawyers in Canada. For those that don’t know, NCA means “National Committee on Accreditation.” For those that went to law school outside of Canada, these students need to take the NCA exams before moving on with articling. Law students who went to school in Canada, don’t need to take the NCA exams.
The company also helps people prepare for the BAR exams in Canada.
A Canadian Company
Aamer Chaudhry is from Pakistan, and he came to Canada to start tutoring students from other countries who want to be a lawyer in Canada. It is likely that he helps a lot of people who were lawyers in India and Pakistan to become lawyers in Ontario, Canada.
The core NCA exams that the company provides include contract law, lawsuit law (tort), and real estate law (property). But they also have tutors to assist with the following areas of study:
- Divorce law
- Constitutional law
- Criminal law
- Lawyer professional responsibility
- Basics of law in Canada
We tried to go through the company’s YouTube videos, but it seems they have all been removed. Possibly because of the Law Society lawsuit, which we will get into later.

NCA Pricing
My first impression was that this company doesn’t seem big enough to attract the wrath of regulators. You can see that they use a Hotmail account on their home page instead of a @ncaexamguru.com email account. It seems like a small operation.
But their pricing page makes a lot of sense. They offer flat-fee options for students, and if they do a good job at marketing in places like India and Pakistan, I could see them doing a lot in revenue. They likely do over $250K in revenue each year.
The price for the solicitor course and the barrister course are the same. There is both a solicitor exam and a barrister exam in Ontario. People who want to become a lawyer need to pass both. But unlike in the UK, there are not two different paths for becoming one or the other. You get licensed to practice both.
They offer individual courses for Admin law, Constitutional law, criminal law etc… For $452.00 each. You can see the pricing below.

There isn’t much information on what you get as part of each course. I clicked on “criminal law” and it just brought me to a payment page. I wanted to know if you just get access to pre-recorded videos, or if you get one on one tutoring. I’m not sure if they mail you a book, or provide you with a PDF. There might have been additional information somewhere else on the website, but it wasn’t easy for me to find it during this investigation. I would have loved to have found an example of a syllabus.

Law Society Sues Aamer Chaudhry
We read both the press release that the Ontario Law Society put out, as well as a copy of the lawsuit filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. You will notice that the Law Society has also filed a claim against John Doe and Jane Joe. This means that there are people the Law Society thinks are involved, but they don’t know who.

NCA Exam Guru Reviews
The Ontario Law Society has said that NCA Exam Guru somehow got access to the questions that would be asked on the exams and provided the questions and answers to the people who signed up for the tutoring services. It’s not clear in the press release how Exam Guru could get the questions. Did they hack the website? Was there corruption involved? It seems the LSO has no idea, which doesn’t make them look great.
The Law Society is asking for any profits that Exam Guru made from selling the Q+A to be paid back to them. They also want a court order saying that Exam Guru cannot do this again. They also asked for other court orders.
It’s likely that the Law Society will look for those who cheated on the exams and ban them from becoming lawyers. This is probably where the Jane Doe and John Doe part of the statement of claim comes into it.
We will reach out to Aamer Chaudhry to see if he will send us a copy of the response he filed with the courts. He had 20 days to respond to the statement of claim.
The Statement of Claim
It seems that Exam Guru operates out of 7025 Tomken Road, Mississauga, Ontario. If he had operated this business out of Pakistan, he almost certainly would have been untouchable by the Ontario Law Society.
The lawsuit is for the torts of breach of confidence, conspiracy, inducing breach of contract, and copyright infringement.
It seems unlikely that the questions on an exam would be considered copyright infringement. It’s very unlikely that the Law Society trademarked those questions. Although they might have the copyright to the book that the questions appeared in (if it was a book that Aamer got his hands on.)
It’s also very unlikely that there was a contract between the Law Society and Exam Guru.
The only two torts that seem to make sense are the breach of confidence and conspiracy torts. A breach of confidence is when someone makes private information public. But it’s not clear if Exam Guru had a duty to keep the information private.
NCA Exam Guru Vs. Ontario Lawyer Regulator
It seems more likely that someone who works at the Law Society provided information to Exam Guru, and they should be the ones who are sued. Also, anyone who cheated on their exam likely violated their Candidate Agreement with the LSO.
It also seems that as part of the Statement of Claim, the Law Society is trying to figure out who leaked the information.
Mr. Chaudhry went through the NCA process himself but did not become a lawyer. It’s unclear why this happened.
Most of the statement of claim seems to be focused on those who cheated on their exams, not on Exam Guru itself.
The Law Society cancelled the March 2022 examination due to the breach of information, which lead to outrage on social media. The exams got rebooked for April 2022.

Professional responsibility in becoming a lawyer
The Law Society admits they have no idea what happened with the leak. Honestly, this doesn’t make the Law Society look good. Instead of starting this lawsuit, they should have focused on settling with NCA Guru privately if possible. Maybe they could have pushed for arbitration. They should have offered NCA Guru compensation to help them protect their exam questions.
This lawsuit has generated a lot of buzz on social media, and if NCA Guru has a way of knowing the questions, it’s likely he will get more clients than ever before. If the owner leaves Ontario and runs his business from Pakistan, the Law Society will be in serious trouble if they can’t plug the leak of information.
For some reason, STOCKWOODS LLP (Toronto-Dominion Centre TD North Tower), a law firm in Toronto, is handling the lawsuit for the LSO, instead of their in-house counsel. That seems strange to me.
We will update this article as the results come in from the court case.
NCA Exam Guru Reviews Conclusion
We know we focused more on the lawsuit than going through the NCA Exam Guru reviews, but we thought it was more interesting. We couldn’t find any Google Reviews for the company anyway.
There is a lot of pressure during the licensing process with the licensing examinations. Topics like administrative law, family law, the foundations of Canadian law, and the criminal law exam can be tough. All the exam workshops just add additional work to get through the licensing exams.
Many people become paralegals instead of lawyers because they don’t want to go through with all the exams.
People want to get as much help with the study materials and bar exams as possible. But the Law Society of Ontario, and even the chief executive officer (Diana Miles) of the LSO, have taken offence to the leaking of their exam questions. This is an understatement, as they filed a civil action against NCA Exam Guru.
You can check out www.ncaexamguru.com if you want to learn more. Because of the lawsuit, NCA Guru has been trending a number of times on social media. The company has good testimonials and some online reviews (obviously happy clients) given that the clients were given the answers to the exams.
