We were as surprised as the rest of the world to hear about the Bill Gates divorce settlement. Bill and Melinda seemed like a happy couple. They worked on charities together and made a big difference.
It seems that they were not able to Excel at their relationship. Hopefully, the couple’s future will have a better Outlook.
Perhaps their marriage is just another casualty of COVID-19. Divorce rates have gone up significantly because of the pandemic.
Unfortunately for them, no marriage agreement (prenup) was signed between them when they got married in Hawaii 27 years ago.
That means that if they couldn’t sign a separation agreement, there will $150B for a Judge to rule over.
It is Bill and Melinda’s goal to make their best efforts to get a separation agreement signed.
It’s probably the courthouse nearest to where Bill and Melinda live.

We thought it was interesting that a trial date was set down for next year (04/04/2022), possibly to approve the separation agreement.
Normally the divorce is just approved “behind the scenes.” This is called a desk order divorce.
It’s possible that a trial date was simply reserved in case the couple started fighting, or if the separation agreement wasn’t desk order approved.
Bill Gates Divorce Settlement
Bill and Melinda Gates have no prenup. With nearly $150 billion at stake, they will split their property according to a ‘separation contract’ they’ve agreed on instead.
It is the couple’s plan for the court to enforce the separation agreement that they created.
All of their children are over the age of 18 years old.
Neither side is seeking the divorce costs from the other.
The issue of the division of property was dealt with in the separation agreement that they signed.
Neither side is seeking a protection order. That often means that there was no abuse in their marriage.
They might have simply fallen out of love.
The couple has been together for 27 years.
Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world, famous for having started Microsoft.
Melinda was the one who filed the court documents on May 3, 2021. We were not able to find a copy of the separation agreement, as it was not included in the divorce filing.
Neither of the spouses is looking for alimony.
We wish the best for Bill and Melinda in the next stages of their life.
