I served, did my part, and now when I need a bit of backup, it feels like hitting a wall. I've tried the usual routes - filled out the forms, made the calls, even dropped by their office once near the Harbour Centre, thinking maybe a face-to-face might make a difference. But nah, same result. It's like there's this specific criteria or box I'm not checking, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what it is. They send back these letters, kind of generic, saying I don't meet the requirements, but I've gone through their guidelines, and it just doesn't square up. So, what I'm wondering is, how does one go about appealing this sort of thing? Is there a specific process in BC for taking another crack at it with Veterans Affairs Canada? Maybe there's some local resource or a Vancouver lawyer who specializes in this sort of thing? I've heard of people having to escalate or even take legal steps, but I'm not sure what that entails, especially here in Vancouver. It's not like I'm looking to start a massive legal battle, but I'm starting to feel like I'm out of options and just spinning my wheels. Any advice or insights you could toss my way would be huge.
